According to Visit Zuid-Limburg, Vaals is officially a village, with a centre that gained an urban character thanks to the eighteenth-century cloth industry. The historic heart lies on the Von Clermontplein, where the weekly market draws visitors from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

The best-known destination is the Three-Country Point on the Vaalserberg. The tourism site calls the summit, at 322.5 metres above NAP, the highest point in the Netherlands. From the area, the Vijlenerbos and the viewpoints are also part of a visit to the surroundings.

The paved area around the monument and the Three-Country Point is accessible by wheelchair, walking frame and pushchair. For the maze itself, however, the operator advises against visiting with a wheelchair or other wheeled aid.

The visiting address is Viergrenzenweg 97 in Vaals. The operator lists €3 per car per parking session and allows dogs on a lead. An extra treasure hunt for children costs €9.50, including entry to the maze.
