Kasteel Helmond is all about stories this autumn
The Herfstkasteel runs until 25 October. The museum offers craft activities and, from 17 October, meetings with castle residents.

According to the museum, Kasteel Helmond has stood in the centre of the town for almost seven centuries. It tells the history of the noble families Van Berlaer, Van Cortenbach, Van Arberg and Wesselman van Helmond. The regional tourism site dates the construction to 1325.
The castle later took on other functions. According to Visit Helmond, municipal civil servants moved in when the building became too cramped; since 1982 it has been part of Museum Helmond. The castle garden is freely accessible and forms an outdoor space beside the museum rooms.

From 10 to 25 October 2026 the museum is holding Herfstkasteel. During opening hours visitors can do crafts every day at no extra cost. The activities with castle residents only begin on 17 October and then run daily until 25 October from 10:30 to 16:00.
The museum at Kasteelplein 1 is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. An admission ticket for the castle is also valid for Kunsthal Helmond.
If you come by car, you will find paid parking about two hundred metres away under the Kasteel-Traverse. The museum has also announced a closure to museum visitors from 10 November to 11 December 2026.
