According to Visit Zuid-Limburg, Gulpen is a well-known base in the Heuvelland. The Gulpenerberg stands out from the village. The tourism site also mentions a visit to the brewery and the tasting room as a possible stop on a tour.

Gulpener Bierbrouwerij says it has been brewing beer for more than two hundred years. Barley and grains come from farmers in the area, water from its own spring and hops from nearby Reijmerstok. There, according to the brewery, Roger Wouters has grown hops for the company since 1997.

The brewery founded Triligran, a cooperative of thirty farmers within a radius of 25 miles. According to Gulpener, this partnership supplies ingredients for the beer.

In autumn, Gulpener sells Herfstbock from 22 September to 21 December. The beer has an alcohol content of 6.5 per cent.

Gulpen also has routes beyond the brewery. Visit Zuid-Limburg describes two commemorative walks of ten and twelve kilometres past nineteen monuments linked to South Limburg’s wartime past.
