Den Bosch in October: from the Sint-Jan to the Binnendieze
The cathedral is open daily and the boatmen still sail under town walls and vaults until 31 October.

The Sint-Janskathedraal on the Parade is a landmark of ’s-Hertogenbosch. VisitBrabant calls it the largest cathedral in the Netherlands and one of four official top monuments in Brabant. Its own site says the church is open daily. See sint-jan.nl for the opening hours for each day.
The cathedral houses the statue of Mary known as the Zoete Moeder (Sweet Mother). According to VisitBrabant the statue was rediscovered in 1380 and safely stored away during the Iconoclasm. It still draws pilgrims to the city today. A visit to the Sint-Jan is thus at the same time an introduction to a living religious tradition.

The tower offers another perspective: during a climb, visitors pass the carillon and the clock mechanism and see an exhibition on construction and restoration. Tickets and times for the tower climb are listed on sint-jan.nl.
A second route through the town runs over the water. The Kring Vrienden van ’s-Hertogenbosch organises boat trips on the Binnendieze with certified guides. The organiser writes that it is precisely in September and October that the town gets quieter and the first autumn colours appear.
The boatmen sail daily until 31 October. The next sailing season then begins on 1 April 2027. According to the organiser, an October trip can be booked online up to fifteen minutes before departure. Daily departure times and prices are listed on kringvrienden.nl.
At the Sint-Jan, its own visitor information mentions free guarded bicycle parking in the Kerkstraat. That is practical for combining church and town centre. Current hours of the cathedral and available trips are with the operators.
